RESIDENT BLOGGER: FASHION FIT

womens sports top arteecollage
‘Resident Blogger: Fashion Fit With Arteecollage’, by Kirsten Ferguson

I’ve been contemplating going to the gym since the start of January but as yet, have done nothing about it. This is due to a busy time with work and university but also because I have nothing to wear. I’m pretty sure if I could find some great sports tops and trousers which made me look and feel good, I would be much more likely to go on a regular basis! Aside from the necessities – a good sports bra and proper trainers – you can pretty much wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable.

In order to boost my chances of going, I’ve opted for buying a new gym wardrobe which includes this Arteecollage Racer Back Tank top in white. Because it’s made from Modal fabric, I know it’s going to be gentle on my skin while I’m not so gentle on the treadmill! As it is slim fit I opted to buy it in a bigger size for optimum movement and at £7.50 it’s not going to break the bank, which is rare since the quality is great.

H&M are doing some great sportswear at the moment so I purchased three-quarter length running tights for £19.99. They are made from breathable fabric and the tights also feature ventilation behind the knees which helps to keep my skin cool and dry. Now for the fun part – trainers. There is so much selection to suit not only different fitness needs, but also different styles! I’ve opted for Nike In season TR ladies trainers from Sports direct for £37.99 which I thought was a reasonable price for good quality, beneficial trainers.

Finally, underneath my Arteecollage racer tank top is a Supernova sports bra from Adidas. Again, like the trainers, it is vital for us ladies to invest in order to have the right support! The fabric removes any trace of sweat and the cross straps in the back, as well as the square neck, add extra support.

I can’t wait to try out my new gym outfit and am now raring to go because the sheer comfort of all these elements mean you don’t need to sacrifice your style when working up a sweat!

ESSENTIAL SPRING TRENDS: ARTEECOLLAGE MONO-CONTRAST

Women's arteecollage black and white t-shirt tank crew

‘Essential Spring Trends: Arteecollage Mono-Contrast’, by Sophie Mayanne

Seen in mainline New York in the Marc Jacobs collection, monochrome is back, in all its glory.
key trend for this spring, be it the cropped monochromatic jacket seen by  Chanel in Paris, orgraphic simplicity in Jil Sander’s collection – the trend is an eye catching statement which can be difficult to master. The balance is easy to tip into disastrous territory – either too much white or too much black.

So how can you wear this trend?

Arteecollage offer a range of functional and essential wardrobe basics for women that can see you through the monochrome trend- and into seasons beyond. Designed with silky, modal fabric, their urban-inspired clothing offers a luxurious and comfortable feel – a perfect styling starting point for this trend.

Start with the simplest wardrobe basics in black and white- vest topst-shirtslong sleeved tops. All of these offer the versatility needed to carry off a trend well – it is easy to forget that the “must have” new top and trousers from a ridiculously priced designer line don’t necessarily work together. It may have fooled you on the catwalk, but it doesn’t mean it should appear on the street.
MONOCHROME TREND TWO
Now you have your basics sorted, you can bring more clothing into the mix:
  1. A cropped jacket – if you are going to invest in any jacket this season, the cropped jacket is the definite answer. Trending across all of the fashion weeks, it is set to be a wardrobe staple for spring. Go one step further and chose yours in a monochromatic print to achieve two trends in one!
  2. The black skater skirt- an infallible wardrobe item that is winter and spring worthy- not to mention flattering. Style with heels for a sophisticated vibe or with converse for an urban edge
  3. Jeans – these are, of course, quite possibly the ultimate wardrobe staple, and chances are you probably already have a pair to match the trend. Keep things simple and combine your pair with one of Arteecollage’s modal racer back tank tops for an effortlessly chic look
  4. A chiffon blouse – shirts are a wardrobe piece that can be styled to look ultra- feminine, tomboyish or simplified for daily wear. Pair your blouse with the black skater skirt for the ultimate Friday night look, or with a pair of Arteecollage’s leggings for the ‘model off duty’ image
So for those of you with a trend-setting eye, start with Arteecollage’s versatile wardrobe basics to coax you to sartorial delight. With their versatile women’s collection, it acts as an investment for this season, and then will endure for future collections. With these clothing foundations you can build the perfect mono-contrast look that sends your style rating to a 10/10.

TODAY I’M WEARING: CASUAL OUTFIT OF THE WEEK

womens modal t-shirt top

“Casual dressing with Arteecollage Modal Tops“, by Kirsten Ferguson.
I started my final semester of university on Monday and am now faced with the dreaded dissertation. And with the imminent agonising over hours stuck in the library and fidgeting until I can piece together a sentence, I need to be comfortable. But whilst spending all-nighters reading books and bashing at my keyboard, I still need to be stylish – you never know who you’ll bump into!

Today I’ve chosen this Arteecollage Asymmetric Modal top in grey. I can always rely on Arteecollagefor chic, classic garments and the modal fabric is so comfortable and easy to wear. You can tell by looking at the fabric that it is high quality and looks much more luxurious than your typical basic wardrobe essentials. Despite all this detail, the grey modal top is in the Arteecollage sale for only £9! The quality makes the top practical to wear casually during the day at university, or for a more casual trip to the bar post dissertation writing!
Screen shot 2013-01-17 at 10.49.57
I paired this Arteecollage Asymmetric top with Topshop MOTO Indigo Leigh skinny jeans. These are the comfiest jeans I have tried in a long time and are perfect for a day of sitting whilst writing. I prefer jeans to leggings in this winter weather as they keep me far warmer. As the Arteecollage modal top is quite simple, I added a twined cord pink necklace from H&M for a touch of colour and sparkle.  On my feet I have pink ballet pumps from River Island for £16 which ties in with the pink necklace.

For a practical way to carry my books I used my grey tote bag from New Look which I thought was great value at just £15. To finish off my outfit, today I’m also wearing a russet brown cardigan from Phix and layered it under my duffel coat because it was minus four degrees this morning! Yowzer.

You can follow Arteecollage on Facebook and Twitter.

There is also only one week left to enter the Arteecollage draw to win £100 of clothing:https://www.facebook.com/Arteecollage/app_180899202052024

Enjoy the rest of your week.

RESIDENT BLOGGER: ACHIEVING OPULENT GLAM

This week our resident blogger Emma Salter gives us a lesson in swift dressing for the office Christmas party whilst getting the silhouette you’ve always wanted by working this figure-hugging dress. With her useful tips on how to adapt your Arteecollage dress from day to night, you’ll no longer fear the squabbles and queues in order to  elbow your way through the women’s loos to transform your look. As ever, let Arteecollage be your saviour.

Arteecollage: Opulent Glam’, by Emma Salter

Stocklists:
Ocean blue sleeveless modal dress : Arteecollage (via amazon) £18 (sale price)
Basic ankle strap heels,  Zara
Hammered gold necklace, Wallis

With the Christmas party season shortly arising, never have I needed a versatile dress to take me from daytime chic to evening wear with the change of just a few accessories.  For my Christmas shindig I’ll be wearing my Arteecollage urban contemporary dress with some killer heels. With its amazing ocean blue colour, extra mini length and sleeveless style, it makes for the ideal ‘laidback chic’ dress that I can make my own through using quirky accessories.

This luxe look dress is an amazing bargain at £18 (reduced by 50%) via the Arteecollage Amazon site, which has become a favourite in my shopping list. What’s so great about this dress is that it can be as versatile as you need, as well as having a great night out in, it’s a perfect garment to layer with black leggings for that ‘smart chic’ look once the partying has died down. Because of the dress’s exceptional quality modal fabric, it brings my figure to life and leaves me feeling confident upon each wear. The material shows off my curves and works in all the right places! Which is something I’ve found to be rare with your average high street party dress.

The luxurious silk qualities of this dress offer comfort, is kind to my sensitive skin, and generates warmth in these winter months. The fabric is an absolute revelation because although the thought of going out in the middle of November makes me go all giddy inside, knowing this dress is going to keep my best bits warm means I can leave the house safe in the knowledge that I won’t wake up with a dreadful cold!
This bodycon dress is extremely flattering, which means it didn’t need much accessorising because it is so elegantly simple. I decided to combine this dress with my hammered gold torq effect necklace from Wallis. This necklace is quite chunky and short which does wonders for my outfit as it doesn’t draw attention away from the dress but keeps me looking glamorous.

I am forever searching the high street for luxury, long lasting heels but never have any luck. But as soon as I saw these basic ankle strap heels in Zara, you couldn’t take them off me! They go with absolutely everything and are a great addition to this already perfect dress.

Now my outfit is done, I pay attention to my best feature: my eyes! To match this cool, relaxed outfit, I’m using the smokey eye technique as it is a style that always seems contemporary. The mix of neutral tones in my outfit makes me the glammest at the ball, (or Vodka Revolution in my case)

If you want to re-create my outfit, go check out Arteecollages‘ Amazon sale which still has some amazing pieces available! Many modal dresses, tops and trousers are 50% off! And prices start from just £6.50. GO!

TIMELESS black suede boots: Pret-a-Beaute £34
Mac Pink Lipstick: £16.50
Hive and Honey chain necklace: piperlime.gap.com £24
Animal print top: Buckle.com £11 (Available now)

Today I’m wearing my favourite animal print top from Buckle.com that was an amazing bargain at £11. It goes great with my long white Arteecollage urban leggings which I got at an even better price on theirAmazon website for a crazy £10! What’s so great about these printed leggings is that they are affordable for such a high quality Modal fabric. The material of these leggings also sculpts my physique in a soft, non-irritable way, which is perfect for my sensitive skin.

The durability of the leggings is top notch too, so much so that the garment’s colour and quality sustains for up to 400 washes! Not only do these leggings look great but they also adapt to the seasons by being naturally cool in the summer and by generating warmth in the winter. This is all ideal seeing as Autumn is coming to an end and my legs that are getting colder.

I’ve teamed this outfit with my new suede boots from Pret-a-Beatue, they were a steal at £34 and can turn every outfit casual to smart! No outfit is complete without a bit of accessories, and this Hive and Honey long chain necklace completes my outfit. It’s a bit pricey at £24 but it’s gold tone and extra long length means it can be worn with just about anything.
These urban chic white leggings from Arteecollage are the perfect staple to this outfit, a garment so simple but with an artistic feature that can be compared to no other kind of legging. This beautiful artwork featured on the right leg is by contemporary artist Paul Engeris and adds a definitive urban edge to the outfit. It’s surrealistic approach and colours make it easy to co-ordinate with the rest of my wardrobe. The modal fabric is what lures me in every time. Arteecollage’s basic range uses the luxurious fabric in most of its designs, making it a staple you want in your wardrobe! Nothing compares to its elegantly simplistic touch.

DAILY WEAR: FROM LECTURES TO LIGHTS

Calling all students: we know how tricky dressing for any occasions can be with a tight budget, especially when your typical day can begin in the library and end in the SU bar drinking Cheeky Vimtos until 3am. So, we’ve designed with you in mind. Lo and behold the classic little black dress. Not just your usual LBD, this garment has an Arteecollage spin on it – we’ve made it bodycon, racerback, and easily wearable as a long tee. We tested the diverse qualities by asking a student blogger to don the tee in her everyday life.

From Lectures to Lights, by Sophie Mayanne

As a student there can be expectations to look good- you need a multi-functional wardrobe that can take you from everyday chic to the lights of a club night- something comfortable, something stylish.  But you need to be wise, so invest in wardrobe staples that can take you to wherever you need to be.

Personally. my favourite item at the moment is the Arteecollage racer back black dress- a must in any aspiring wardrobe. Ethical and urban, and designed with modal fabric, the luxurious silk qualities offer comfort and skim across the figure in a flattering manner.  It’s the ideal piece to take me from long studious lectures, to that all important student night out.
For day to day versatility team this tee with a blazer- or knitted cardigan. I’ve opted for a printed blazer (pictured above) to reflect my artistic personality; A perfect partner in crime with the ArteeCollage LBD. The tee is also combined with ankle boots, my personal choice being a black, muted design, or, if you desire a more glamorous effect team with heels, and you’re ready to take on the world.

So spend wisely, and invest your student loan (or pay cheque) in Arteecollage, for timeless pieces that offer a luxurious silk like feel like no other brand- why not make your money stretch that bit further and  visit Arteecollage on Amazon? A chance to buy clothing and still have money left over for a cocktail? Yes please.
Visit the amazon store here, or alternatively visit the eBay store for more bargains

And if you’re a keen artist – keep an eye out for Artee Collage’s collaborations with artists such as Paul Engeris where you can add unique, eye catching designs to your wardrobe.

EMMA SALTER: TODAY I’M WEARING

Creating urban chic, but with an effortlessly elegant approach, is what we take pride in at Arteecollage. Our splendid range of modal tees are quietly unique, with their subtle twists on a faithful wardrobe staple. Nowhere is this more evident than with our asymmetric neckline on the ‘mysterious tee’. Available in a wonderful range of hues such as neutral beige and tomato red, compiling a contemporary look has never been more fun with our collection. Here’s how our lovely blogger Emma Salter wore her ATC tee.

‘Arteecollage: Chic Style’ by Emma Salter

Today I’m wearing this chic Modal fabric red tee from the Arteecollage range, and teaming it with my lovely pink frill hem mini skirt from the Topshop sale, my floral Dr Martins and my urban mirror stud clutch from Miss Selfridge (pictured above)

The great thing about Arteecollage is that all their garments are crafted in pure and flowing modal fabric. This design glides on the skin like silk and creates a classic look with its feminine asymmetrical neckline! My mother always told me never to wear red and pink together as they clash, but the rich red tone in this tee offers a dark and mysterious style making it ideal for adapting to multiple seasons and styles.

Finishing off my chic outfit, I am wearing a quirky contemporary moustache necklace from New Look.

Red Top: Arteecollage, £35Pink Skirt: Topshop, £15Moustache necklace: New Look, £12Mirror stud clutch: Miss Selfridge, £38
This ‘Mysterious Tee’ is your perfect staple for an urban chic outfit and, thanks to the Modal fabric creating a silky classic smart casual look, I will be able to wear it with anything as it is so comfortable and chic! It is rare to find a basic tee that still makes you feel elegant and feminine. Once you feel the luxury quality of this tee, you will never want to shop high-street basics again!

GUEST BLOGGER – JEN POW #4: LEGGINGS FOR LIFE

Most girls – whether they like to admit it or not – own leggings. Perfectly versatile, usually comfortable and  seemingly forever in vogue, leggings help build the foundation of looks aplenty. They come in many shapes and sizes – from animal to Aztec prints, but what sets our range of quality leggings apart from the rest is their durability and flexibility due to their soft, Modal fabric qualities. Guaranteed to last over hundreds of wears and washes, it takes little to show how a simple pair of casual black leggings can transform and strengthen your wardrobe. Blogger Jen Pow shows why our Pearl Black  designs are top of her wish list.

‘Leggings for Life’, by Jen Pow

Leggings have become a permanent essential of every girls wardrobe, an integral basic from which to build an outfit that is not only comfortable but stylish too. There used to be a bit of a stigma attatched to these stretchy pants associated with middle aged women in the 80′s and bad exercise video’s but they have been reborn and are now the height of fashion.
Here’s a flavour of how to style leggings the right way:

Leggings whether they are black, plain, bright, patterned, wet look, leather or print, look great styled with the right attire and worn the right way. By this I mean the the top seam of the leggings should always be covered – never expose a leggings bum with a gap and then the top – there is nothing worse! Always wear with a slightly long top, blouse, tunic or blazer and wear with heels for ultimate chic.
The Problem with leggings - A fashion faux pas that can occur with wearing leggings is sometimes they become baggy and can either rouche or sag at the knee, this can come from cheap material that starts to give after being washed or worn too many times.

Arteecollage’s Pearl Black Leggings are the ultimate leggings that every girl just has to have. They are made from stretch modal – jersey material meaning they are super soft, feel great against your skin, stretch perfectly to the shape of your leg and hold tight to keep their shape. The stretch in the modal material means they stay tight after machine washing. These versatile leggings are a complete bargain at £14.40 – they are currently on sale down from £29.76 so be sure to get your pair now from www.arteecollage.com !

Here’s how to style your Arteecollage Pearl Black Leggings for this Autumn / Winter season:
Black is a huge colour for Autumn 2012 and what better way to start building your outfit than with the fabulous Arteecollage Pearl Black Leggings. Team with the Topshop Boutique gorgeous grey tunic which will create a nice silhouette making your legs look super long and slim. Layer with the River Island blazer for a sophisticated work wear look and team with the spike platforms. There is definitetly a punk vibe hitting the shops this season, studs and spikes are everywhere so be sure to include them in your outfits this fall. Finish the look with this stunning, oversized, quilted tote bag from French Connection.

Hope you love the look and remember to start building your outfits with the best of basics from Arteecollage and pick up your leggings for life at www.arteecollage.com .
